Accompanist
Elspeth is much in demand as a professional accompanist, for individual artistes and choral ensembles both at home and abroad. In 2004 she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music, during which time she was successful in both concert performance and competitions. |
She was the most highly commended accompanist in the Somerton Godfrey competition in 2003 and 2004, a finalist in the Richard Lewis/Brenda Webb Competition, the RAM Club Prize 2004, winner of the John Ireland Prize for Voice and Piano - and, most recently, won the Scott Huxley Prize for Piano Accompaniment and the Eleanor Gerhardt Lieder Prize.
Since leaving the Academy, Elspeth has continued her career as accompanist for the lieder and choral repertoires. She was accompanist and repetiteur for Lesley Garrett and guests in preparation for her 2004 Christmas Day TV concert. In July 2006 she was official repetiteur for the highly acclaimed Opera de Baugé season in the Loire Valley, France.
Elspeth's association with TCS began in 2003. As well as accompanying the Choir and guest soloists at the Christmas concerts and Summer Soireés, she has also performed her solo repertoire to great acclaim.
